MetaWipe has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no network features. Everything happens on your device. Your photos never leave your phone.
Data we collect
None. MetaWipe does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or usage data. The app contains no analytics tools, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
How your photos are processed
All photo processing happens entirely on your device:
- When you select a photo, MetaWipe reads its metadata (such as GPS location, device model, and timestamps) locally, only to show you what the photo contains.
- When you remove metadata, a clean copy is created on your device. Your original photo is never modified.
- The app makes no network connections. Your photos and their metadata are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or anyone else.
Photo library access
MetaWipe uses Apple's system photo picker, which lets you choose photos without granting the app access to your photo library. The only permission MetaWipe ever requests is add-only access, used solely to save the cleaned copy back to your library when you tap "Save Clean Copy." The app cannot browse or read your photo library.
Data stored on your device
MetaWipe stores a small amount of non-personal data locally on your device only: your daily free-quota usage count and your purchase status. This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.
Purchases
The optional one-time purchase (MetaWipe Pro) is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your name, payment details, or any billing information. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
MetaWipe does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how MetaWipe handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app has no network features, any such change would only take effect through an App Store update that you choose to install.
